Remember the little child Anandi? The sweet village girl from Belaria, who captured a place in every Indian’s heart. Her sweet smile, innocent gaze, and reasoning mind made Anandi an instant hit with the Indian crowd. Anandi, who always wanted to be like her teacherji, went on to be a teacher herself and the head of the Panchayat too. This little girl was the lead protagonist of the popular colors daily soap opera Balika Vadhu. Balika Vadhu became a rage since its inception. The whole concept of depicting the hardships and predicaments of child marriage became viral overnight and Anandi became India’s sweetheart.
Anandi was portrayed by Avika Gor, who started her career from a very young age . The little girl seemed to work magic on screen. Her every nuance was so beautifully shown on screen that everybody fell in love with the little girl. Her innocence and quick wit was what the audience loved. Anandi’s little tiffs with her husband Jagya were loved by the audience. The two children together bought the show to life. Avika Gor played Anandi with all her heart. Avika Gor is now a household name in India, her role as the innocent Anandi won her many accolades. She was critically acclaimed and won many awards. This amazing actress was born on June 30th 1997. However, Avika does not plan to leave her studies behind, she wants to pursue her studies in mass communication or wants to do a film making course.
This 16 year old teenager is an absolute go getter. She was roped in for a role in Pathshala, which starred Shahid Kapoor and Ayesha Takia. She also bagged a role in the film Morning Walk. Moreover, she has done a number of appearances in reality shows, like Red Label Hot Chhoriyas and Kitchen Champion on colors. She has done many other television shows like Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni, Chalti ka Naam Gaddi, Karam Apna Apna etc. At present 16 year old Avika is playing a very mature and fearless character of Rolly Bhardwaj in Sasural Simar ka. Rolly is Simar’s younger sister, though Rolly is young, she is fearless and always supports her elder sister during the times of hardship. Simar on the other hand is timid and soft spoken; Rolly’s presence in Simar’s life gives Simar a sense of security and protection.
Avika is an acting gem, and at such a tender age this stupendous actress has successfully played the role of a married woman. She handles her act maturely and delivers a superlative performance as Rolly. She is not only a good actress but also a great dancer. She has performed in several dance reality shows and award functions. She is a graceful dancer and her dancing skills have also been applauded by her loyal fans. She has been trained in dance since she was only four years old.
The teenager is currently studying in class 10 in Ryan International School, Malad. One can just wonder how she manages studies and acting together. The young prodigy has been awarded a number of times. She received the Indian Telly Award for the best child artiste (female) for Balika Vadhu. She was also awarded best fresh new face by Indian Telly Awards. She received the jury choice best actress award for Balika Vadhu, by the Indian Television Academy Awards. In 2009 Avika received the Rajiv Gandhi award for the best child artist. Again, in 2009 Indian Telly Awards gave her the most popular child artiste award. New Talent Awards gave her gave her the best new child artiste award and the TV icon of the year award. She also received the Golden Petal Award for the most sanskari personality, for her role in Sasural Simar Ka. In the same year she received the most jaan baaz personality award and the most bhavuk personality award for her portrayal of Rolly in Sasural Simar Ka. So much appreciation at such young age is commendable, she has shone over the years and with such acting abilities, one can predict that Avika will continue to shine.
After winning so many awards and being praised by everyone in the industry Avika also bagged a role in the movie Tezz, which released in 2011. She has done absolute justice to all the characters she has played on screen, be it the bubbly Anandi or the matured Rolly, Avika has convincingly and enacted her role perfectly.
