The television show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon has become a rage with the younger generation. The show had a very high TRP rating and many web pages have been devoted to the show. The reasons for the show’s success were the stars of the serial – Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani. The chemistry between them was exceptional. The show first aired on Star Plus on June 6, 2011 but the show had an abrupt ending on November 30, 2012. The fans were heartbroken.
Barun enacted the role of Arnav Singh Raizada, a rich business tycoon who is oblivious of sentiments and feelings. Arnav’s character is impertinent, insensitive and brutal. His behavior is rash and impudent until he meets his lady love Khushi Kumari Gupta. Barun Sobti, who is already famous on wiki, was superlative as Arnav and received a lot of critical acclaim for his performance in the show. The show not only highlighted Barun but also made Sanaya Irani a star overnight. They together have received umpteen awards for their acting skills, plus, the fan following has been unparalleled. The show is also termed as a classic by many.
Both these actors were not new to television, both had done popular daily soaps earlier, but when cast opposite each other the two created history when it came to TRP ratings. Sanaya had been a part of shows like Left Right Left, Radha ki Betiyaan Kuchh Kar Dikhaengi, Mile Jab Hum Tum before being a part of the iconic Iss pyaar ko kya naam doon. At present Sanaya is playing the role of Chhanchhan in the new Sony TV soap Chhanchhan. Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon aired on primetime television and made the most of that time slot.
