When they say that you’ll never know what destiny has in store for you, they speak the truth. Initially, an operations manager in the telecom company, Jindal which he claims he had taken up for financial reasons, the 5 foot 11 inch tall actor Barun Sobti, is one of the most sought after actors in the television industry today. But it didn’t just happen all of a sudden. Even while working at Jindal, Sobti was persistent about appearing in photo shoots and modelling assignments.

Debuting on the silver screen as Swayam Khurana in Star Plus’ daily show, Shraddha opposite Neha Junpundit, he became popular for his role of Shravan Jaiswal in Sony TV’s Baat Hamari Pakki Hain. Later on the actor who also happens to be really gutsy by nature, went on to play the role of a cold- hearted business hot shot, Arnav Singh Raizada in Star Plus’ leading soap Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon along with the sexy lass Sanaya Irani. With the abrupt exit of the actor from the show with the highest TRP, the country witnessed the fan frenzy for the actor when the producers and the channel blamed the actor for the show going off air. In fact for the first time in the history of Indian television, instead of the replacement of the actor, the show was pulled off air. With time he has proved that not only is he a flamboyant charmer but also a proficient actor. With various awards in his kitty, he is now accredited as ‘The Golden Boy of Indian Television’.

Barun was only twenty six when he got married to Pashmeen on the 12th of December, 2012. His marriage was a pretty low-profile affair attended by their close friends and relatives only. The actor was at that time portraying the character of Shravan Jaiswal in a leading role in Sony TV’s Baat Hamari Pakki Hain and was allowed to take only a day off. According to sources, even Sobti’s co actors from the serial could not be a part of the wedding as only Sobti got a day off. The wedding took place in a Gurudwara in a simple but conventional way, following all the necessary rituals. Everything ended well and Sobti was back in the sets of Baat Hamari Pakki Hain the following day as if nothing happened. Barun and Pashmeen went on a trip to Goa for their honeymoon later on.

The actor in several of his interviews has admitted that he hardly can relate to any of the characters he plays. Even in Baat Hamari Pakki Hain which he was shooting for at the time when he got married, he portrayed the role of a very irresponsible guy named Shravan Jaiswal. Talk to him about his wife and you will see a very modest smile break through his lips. The blushing actor admits to enjoying the feeling of being married and being with the person he loves. His wife may not hail from the industry but is heard to be very understanding and has no objection to his female fan following. According to what the actor has been heard saying in an interview, when he and his wife are out, she doesn’t even object with his female fans clicking pictures with him. Furthermore and most importantly, Pashmeen happens to acknowledge his love for her and is aware of the fact that if a certain role justifies, the actor can take up intimate scenes. We now see why she has won the actor’s heart. We wishing the lovely couple a happy and a peaceful married life!
