22nd February, 2013: Being both valuable and definitive, birthday is always special in a person’s life, be it young or old. K. A. Yash of Zee TV’s super hit show, Punar-Vivah, that is, Gurmeet celebrated his birthday on the 22nd of February. Although he was busy shooting, he said he was moved by the wishes and gifts from his fans, including some who had traveled long distances just to wish him personally. He also mentioned a surprise party organised by his beloved wife, Debina which made his day even more special.

Gurmeet was very enthusiastic about acting from a very young age and was bent on becoming an actor. Apart from acting, he also associated himself with the envisioning and staging of plays in his school years. As a first step towards his ambition, he started modelling and after having successfully obtained the title of ‘Mr. Jabalpur’, he contested for the title of ‘Mr. India’.
The present heartthrob of the silver screen debuted in Mayavi, India’s first 3D television series, in the year 2006. He played a negative role in the GV Films production, the Tamil production house for Jaya TV and it was later dubbed into Telugu and Malayalam. The series being a huge success in South India helped Gurmeet acquire a lot of fans down south. He next came into view in the silver screen playing the character of Shri Ram on NDTV Imagine’s Ramayan, the religious television series opposite his better half, Debina Bannerjee. This broadened his fan base and he also received the New Talent award in the best male actor category. Later on the couple went ahead to win NDTV’s reality show called Pati Patni Aur Woh. He established himself in the television industry completely with his role of a business tycoon in Star One’s Geet Hui Sabse Parayi opposite Drashti Dhami. His acting in the series was highly appreciated and opened up opportunities for him. At present he stars in Zee TV’s Punar Vivah and plays the character of Yash Sindhia along with Kratika Sengar. He is also the winner of Colors TV’s reality dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5 choreographed by Shampa Sonthalia. He also had a special performance in NDTV Imagine’s serial, Bandini.
In spite of receiving a lot of praise for his acting on the silver screen, Gurmeet’s career in the film industry has not gone too far. He played the role of a protagonist in the movie Cycle Kick which unfortunately did not release. He played a small role of a college friend to actor Aftab Shivdasani in the film Koi Aapsa. Augmented by his fame in the south, he also acted in a few South Indian movies. Apart from movies he also has been seen in a number of music videos.
Gurmeet Chaudhary, son of Sitaram Chaudhary, was born in Jairampur, in the Bhagalpur District of Bihar. Born on the 22nd of February, 1984, a Piscean by birth and lovingly called as ‘Sashi’ by friends and family, Gurmeet has been raised in Jabalpur and Chennai. The five feet eleven inches man is married to Debina Bannerjee who also happens to be his co-star in NDTV’s religious show, Ramayan. Blue being his favorite colour, Gurmeet savours the taste of palak paneer, pav bhaji and samosa and in his free time he indulges himself in reading and learning martial arts. He also has a hobby of collecting sunglasses.
