There are many actresses who have gotten a chance to enter the film and television industry in India based simply on their good looks and ‘hotness’ quotient. However, there are also some who have entered this industry with sheer talent and a pretty face. While it is debatable whether the industry runs on beauty or talent, the actors from the industry say otherwise. Most of them would agree that beauty is not the only criterion. There are several other criteria which are taken into account. I am sure most of you have heard of and even seen the pretty actress Sriti Jha. She debuted on the show Dhoom Machaao Dhoom on Disney Channel India in the year 2007. Like most other actors in the field, she too took an unconventional career path and chose to act. While many people would shy away from making such a bold move and risking it all for their lifelong dream, this pretty starlet not only decided that this was the career for her, but also made quite a name for herself in the industry.
The questions which is foremost in your mind when deciding to be an actor is, whether looks are all that matter or is talent taken into account too? Looking at things from a director’s point of view, both looks and talent are equally important as you will need both in order to succeed in this industry. Take Sriti Jha for instance. While many will say that this young lady is very talented, Sriti Jha is hot as well. She dresses according to what the role demands and is a perfectionist when it comes to execution.
After her stint on Dhoom Machaao Dhoom, this lovely lass went on to bag the role of Sunaina on the popular show Jiya Jale. For all those who were doubtful, this proved to be a turning point where is was clearly proved that Sriti was a talented actress. The show which started in mid 2007 went on till the year 2008 and was very popular among the viewers. She was specially applauded for her performance and her look.
In the year 2009 she could be seen in the portrayal of the role of Sudha/Devika on the popular show Jyoti which was aired on the channel NDTV Imagine. Simultaneously, she was seen on Shaurya Aur Suhani on Star Plus. The next few shows really helped her make a name for herself in the industry and made people realise that she was there to stay. Again with NDTV Imagine, she performed on the show Rakt Sambandh following which she did Dil Se Di Dua…Saubhagyavati Bhava? on the channel Life OK. The character in whose role we can see her now is Ganga on Colors TV’s Balika Vadhu.
