The tall and handsome chap with simplicity written all over him has bowled millions of people over with his aristocratic appearance as the hottest God ever – Lord Shiva, in the mythological TV Series Devon Ke Dev – Mahadev. He has literally brought Shiva on earth with his spectacular and true to heart performance. The show has created rage among viewers of all age.
P.L.Raina – Mohit Raina Father
Mohit’s father is Late P.L. Raina. He was an
Mohit was born into a Kashmiri Brahmin family in the village Ghai Bhajwal Tehsil
Sunderbani distt, Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir on 7th October in the year 1986.
As a Shiva devotee, the charming Kashmiri lad (Mohit) found it easy to slip into character. Initially, he wasn’t sure if he could play the role of Lord Shiva or not. But his dad was a Shiv bhakt and in Kashmir, his father used to take him for Amarnath Yatra. His dad told him so many stories about Lord Shiva since his childhood. And that helped him to get into the character!
Mohit can actually relate to him a lot. So when he heard that a mythological show based on Lord Shiva is being made, and he got the opportunity to play the God himself, he grabbed it with both hands as he knew he would do complete justice to the concept as he has tremendous experience in the genre. ‘I did not want to lose the opportunity at any cost’, said he.
His dad was totally against his decision of becoming an actor. So one day he just went up to him and placed two envelopes in front of him. One envelope had his resignation letter and the other had his tickets to Mumbai. So after much persuasion his father finally agreed to him becoming an actor.
After Mohit bagged the role of Lord Shiva, he got extremely happy. In fact, he thought iss Shivraatri par woh meri hi pooja karne waale hain!
Switching off every day after shooting wasn’t easy. Then he
figured out a formula, ‘I do a 15-minute meditation and breathing exercise every day after shooting. That helps me to come out of character’!
His father passed away few years ago. Losing his dad had been a low point in his life.
Sushma Kumara – Mohit Raina Mother
Sushma Kumara is Mohit’s mother. She is a school teacher.
The first person to whom India’s most iconic TV star Mohit turns up to when he needs help is his mother. She is inundated with requests of, Bhagwaan ke darshan kara do from his fans! But she doesn’t take him seriously. She doesn’t think he’s a good actor and thinks that he’s overrated and is doing just-about okay.
The small screen God is a self-confessed Mamma’s Boy and he lives in Mumbai with his mother. He is very close to his mom.
Mohit absolutely loves raajma- chaawal cooked by his mom. He does not leave home without taking blessings from his mamma.
For Maha Shivraatri every year, Mohit is unable to perform Shiva Puja at home and therefore his mom gets upset. But he does make sure to perform Shiv puja after returning home from shooting.
Mouni Roy – Mohit Raina Girlfriend
There have been talks of Mohit being seriously involved with his co – star Sati aka Mouni Roy and of a marriage proposal from Priyanka Chopra. But in this context he said, ‘There have been linkups, but all untrue. Seriously, there’s no time. All I do is shoot and go to the gym!’
It had been heard that the couple (Mohit – Mouni) were seeing each other since a very long time, but never came in public and declared in open about their relationship. Be it a formal or family function or friend’s party, they were always spotted together and needless to say some instances did prove it that they were seeing each other and were ready to move to the love phase together.
A model and now a TV superstar – Mohit started dating Mouni, after she broke up with her very long time boyfriend Gaurav Chopra. Both Mouni and Gaurav were seen in many dance reality shows together and they even accepted their relationship in open. They later broke up, but the reason for their breakup had never been disclosed. In any case if the news turns out to be true and Mohit and Mouni tie the knot, then it would be a heavenly bliss for the audiences to see their Mahadev getting married to his Sati in reality!
