For those of us who used to breathe, eat and live Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, it came as a shock that the serial ended so abruptly. Reports tell us that Sanaya Irani, the lead who played Khushi Kumari Gupta is peeved with her fans for posting insulting comments and hurling abuses at the producer, Gul Khan.
Hmmm… So what is the actual story behind all this friction? Well fans, the show got cancelled because Barun Sobti (Arnav Singh Raizada), the lead actor, quit and the producers could not find a suitable replacement.
The handsome actor had given his notice earlier a while back. The show ended because of certain circumstances which cannot be controlled.
Rumour has it that Nautanki Telefilms, a Saurabh Tewari venture, is writing the script keeping the pretty lady in mind. The question now is, that, with Sanaya already having played many such romantic heroines is she in danger of being typecast? Many actresses in Bollywood have faced this problem and have been unsuccessful in shedding their typecast role. Sanaya should really try to move on from the typical roles and explore greener pastures.
Miley Jab Hum Tum was phenomenally successful and it thrust her into the mainstream Television industry. Sanaya Irani became a face known in almost every household; but it also made her the perfect damsel in distress and unless you can break free from that typical role, you tend to get stuck in the role of your first character.
“Sanaya wants to play roles which allow her some diversity”, says a source close to the Tellywood hottie. So, will we be seeing Sanaya in a sexy seductress’ role or will she continue to play the damsel in distress and stay on the safe side?
