Born in February on the 22nd, Gurmeet Chaudhary celebrated his birthday this year on the sets of his popular show, Punar Vivah. Although he did not really celebrate his birthday, the star thanked his fans for their wishes and the gifts they sent. Rumors are that some fans even traveled from different places just to wish him in person. His wife Debina also arranged for a surprise birthday party which he mentioned in an interview later on. The auspicious date of his birthday followed the celebration of the show Punar Vivah turning a year old. The show began on the 20th of February in the year 2012 and has been running successfully since.
On this popular show, Gurmeet Chaudhary plays the lead role and his role is that of the much talked about K.A. Yash. The show has taken its share of twists and turns, keeping the audience glued to their seats. One of the major twists which really left the audience hungry for more was the one where Yash was to marry his ex-wife, Ishita again after divorcing his second wife, Arti. While both the actresses did a very good job, the acting of Gurmeet Chaudhary was subject to special praise.
Going back to the days when Gurmeet Chaudhary was still unknown, the actor was always interested in this field and knew that this was where he wanted to carve out a niche for himself – something he has been immensely successful in doing. The actor was a model before he joined the acting line and the first step he took towards this profession was participating in a contest to be awarded the title of Mr. India, where he walked away with the prize for Mr. Jabalpur. After this, Gurmeet starred in the lesser known television series Mayavi, which was the first ever 3D series on television.
Gurmeet was then seen playing the role of Sri Ram on the NDTV Imagine’s production of the Ramayan. This proved to be immensely lucky for him, as it was on this show that he met the lady who would later go on to become his wife. Debina Banerjee and Gurmeet Chaudhary played the lead roles on the show Ramayan. Their friendship sparked almost immediately after the two met and soon, it blossomed into love. Debina and Gurmeet got married in the year 2011 in a private ceremony in Kolkata. The two have been happily married since.
After this came Gurmeet’s real break into the industry, that is, his role as the stormy, brooding, Maan Singh Khurana on Geet Hui Sabse Parayi, opposite Drashti Dhami. The pair made a lovely on screen couple.
Right now, Gurmeet is looking forward to the release of his shelved film, Bicycle Kick. Although this movie was filmed earlier on, it was not released until recently and that too it did not receive a proper release, thus leaving Gurmeet Chaudhary’s film career in the dust. Apart from these shows on television, Gurmeet Chaudhary’s biography also includes participating and winning in the reality dance show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5. A talented dancer and actor, Gurmeet’s acting career in Bollywood will hopefully open up soon enough and allow him to join the club of the Bollywood biggies.
